It’s a clear summer’s day and you can see right across the London skyline from the terraces in Greenwich Park. Up here, the city feels that little bit further away. Between the avenues of trees, people wander, sit, chat and get on with their day. There are stories everywhere.
Brenda, 88, was the first to be painted into Greenwich Park. Her story began with loneliness but celebrates friendship, laughter and the simple joy of being seen. You’ll find her in all her glory in the bottom right-hand corner.
Across the grass, Muriel is being dragged along by Koa, her squirrel-chasing Rhodesian Ridgeback. Along the terrace, Dan Colman discreetly scatters his dad’s and uncle’s ashes from small packets tucked inside his safari jacket. And at her own request, Mary Portas lies on a blanket, making the very most of the sunshine.
